I built Orion Chime because I was tired of checking the same store pages over and over. It checks availability and lets you know when it finds something. Here is how it started and what you should know before using it.
Two things to know first
Can I buy a product or make a booking through this website?
No. Orion Chime only helps you find availability. You still buy from the retailer or book through the booking provider. Orion Chime does not sell products, take payment for them, or make bookings for you.
Is availability guaranteed when I receive an alert?
No. It means Orion Chime found availability at the time of the check. Stock and bookings can disappear quickly, and the alert does not hold anything for you.
The beginning
Why I built it
A few years ago, I wanted the new iPhone as soon as it came out. I was not patient enough to wait for a preorder delivery, so I got up early and joined a long line. After all that waiting, I still could not get the color I wanted.
That is where the first version came from. I made it for myself, with email alerts from the beginning, and later shared it with other people who had the same problem. In 2025, I added more countries and did a frontend revamp.
For 2026, I added more languages, SMS alerts for U.S. and Canadian phone numbers, and a lot of refactoring to make search and alerts more reliable.
I still want the same thing: to help someone find the phone they want without spending the morning refreshing pages or standing in line.

Built for shoppers, not scalpers
I built Orion Chime for people trying to buy a phone for themselves. It is not meant for bulk buying or resale.
In 2025, several people asked me for automated or bulk access. They clearly were not shopping for themselves, so I said no. Since then, I have added more limits and checks to make that kind of use harder.
I know I will not stop every scalper. Even the biggest companies cannot do that. But I will keep working on it so Orion Chime stays useful for regular shoppers.

Why there are paid plans
The original checker was completely free, and there is still a free option. I want anyone looking for a phone to be able to use it.
In 2025, I added a Buy Me a Coffee link. Thank you to everyone who donated. If you donated and still plan to use the service this year, please email me. I may have a small surprise for you.
I do not want to cover the site with ads, and Google AdSense did not make much sense for a service built around alerts. But servers, availability checks, email and SMS delivery, security, and ongoing development cost money. The 2026 release includes optional paid plans to help pay those bills while keeping the free option available.

I am still working on more reliable alerts and better ways to keep scalpers out.
I am also building a dining availability tracker that will start in Japan. I will share more when it is ready.

Is Orion Chime affiliated with Apple?
No. Orion Chime is an independent service and has no affiliation with Apple. For help with Apple Store purchases, Apple ID issues, AppleCare, or order status, please contact Apple Support. Apple and its product names and logos belong to Apple Inc.
Do I need an account?
You do not need an account to check nearby availability. You only need one if you want to create an alert or change its settings.
Does Orion Chime need my Apple ID?
No. The iPhone Inventory Checker never asks for your Apple ID password, Apple verification codes, or Apple Store payment details. Your Orion Chime account is separate and is only used to manage your alerts.
How quickly will I receive an alert?
It depends on your plan, how busy the service is, what is available, and how long email or SMS delivery takes. Exact delivery times are not guaranteed. During a new release, and at popular stores in large cities, availability is often extremely tight: stock can appear and sell out within seconds. Treat an alert as a prompt to check straight away rather than as a reservation, and be aware that some alerts may never be fulfilled if a model never reaches that store.
My alert says completed, but I never received the email.
Check your junk or spam folder first. Alerts are sent from alerts@orionchime.com, and mail filters sometimes catch the first message from an unfamiliar sender. Adding that address to your contacts or safe-sender list helps later alerts arrive in your inbox. If you still cannot find it, open your account page and re-activate the alert to start watching that store again.
Which iPhone models and regions are supported?
The iPhone Inventory Checker currently works in 25 regions. New iPhone models are added as soon as possible after Apple releases them.
