About Orion Chime
Stop refreshing.
I built Orion Chime so you do not have to keep checking the same store pages. It watches availability for you and sends an alert when something shows up. This page explains the story, what the service does, and what it cannot promise.
Two things to know first
Can I buy a product or make a booking through this website?
No. Orion Chime helps you find availability, but purchases and bookings are completed directly with the retailer or booking provider. The website does not sell products, process payments for them, or complete bookings on your behalf.
Is availability guaranteed when I receive an alert?
No. An alert means availability was found when Orion Chime checked. Availability can change quickly, and an alert does not reserve a product or booking for you.
The beginning
Why I built it
A few years ago, I wanted the new iPhone as soon as it came out. I am not very patient when it comes to a new phone, so instead of waiting for a preorder delivery, I got up early and joined a long line. After all that waiting, I still could not get the color I wanted.
That experience gave me the idea for the first version. I built it for myself, and it included email alerts from the beginning. Then I shared it with other people who had the same problem. The following year I added more countries. For the 2026 release, I rewrote most of the service and used AI to help improve almost every part of it.
The goal is still the same. I want to help real people get the phone they want without spending all morning refreshing pages or waiting in line.
Behind the screen
Who I am
I am an independent developer, and I build and run Orion Chime on my own. I handle the website, infrastructure, alert delivery, and support.
Who it is for
Built for shoppers, not scrapers
I built Orion Chime for regular people trying to buy a phone, not for scrapers and resellers.
In 2025, several people contacted me asking for automated or bulk access. It was clear they were not shopping for themselves, so I turned down every request. For the 2026 release, I have spent a lot more time adding limits and other protections to make scraping harder.
There is no perfect way to stop every scraper. Even the biggest companies deal with the same problem. I will keep improving the protections so Orion Chime stays useful for regular shoppers and automated abuse is blocked whenever possible.
Keeping it running
Free to start, built to last
The original checker was free because I wanted everyone looking for a phone to be able to use it. I still want Orion Chime to have a free option.
In 2025, I added a Buy Me a Coffee link. A huge thank you to everyone who donated. If you donated and still use the service, please email me. I may have a small surprise for you.
I never wanted to fill the site with ads, and Google AdSense was not a good fit for a service built around notifications. At the same time, availability checks, servers, email and SMS delivery, security, and development all cost money. That is why I am introducing optional paid plans with the 2026 release. They will help cover those costs and let me keep improving the service while the free option remains available.
The roadmap
What comes next
Right now I am focused on making alerts more reliable, handling busy product launches better, and keeping scrapers out.
I am also building a dining availability tracker. It will start with Japan. Stay tuned for more news.

Frequently asked questions
Is Orion Chime affiliated with Apple?
No. Orion Chime is an independent third party availability monitoring service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Apple Inc. All product names, logos, and brands are the property of their respective owners. Orion Chime cannot assist with Apple Store purchases, Apple ID issues, AppleCare, or order status. Please contact Apple Support directly for those matters.
Do I need an account?
You can check nearby availability without an account. An account is required to create alerts and manage your alert preferences.
Does Orion Chime need my Apple ID?
No. The iPhone Inventory Checker never asks for your Apple ID password, Apple verification codes, or Apple Store payment details. Your Orion Chime account is separate and is only used to manage your alerts.
How quickly will I receive an alert?
The timing depends on your plan, demand, current availability, and email or SMS delivery. There is no guaranteed delivery time.
Which iPhone models and regions are supported?
The iPhone Inventory Checker currently supports 25 regions. When Apple releases a new iPhone model, the website will be updated as soon as possible so you can start checking availability and creating alerts.
